What to Expect
Our Assessment Process
We know that families often spend months searching for answers. That's why we make the evaluation process efficient, supportive, and straightforward.
01 | Initial Consultation
10-15 minutes
A brief phone consultation with Dr. Westreich to discuss your concerns, determine whether an evaluation is appropriate, and schedule testing appointments. Once scheduled, intake paperwork and questionnaires are sent electronically for completion.
02 | Parent/Adult Virtual Interview
45–60 minutes
For comprehensive evaluations, Dr. Westreich completes an intake session prior to in person testing. Dr. Westreich gathers a thorough developmental history, discusses background details, and reviews specific home/school concerns.
03 | In-Person Testing Sessions
1–2 sessions (3-4 hours each session)
Testing takes place in our Houston office (or within select school settings). Dr. Westreich and specialized master's-level examiners ensure a warm, comfortable environment where both children and adults feel at ease, allowing them to demonstrate their true abilities.
04 | Comprehensive Report
2–3 weeks
Dr. Westreich carefully reviews all information gathered and prepares a detailed written report. The report includes findings, diagnoses (when appropriate), and personalized recommendations that can be shared with schools, physicians, therapists, and other providers. For school-age children, we strongly recommend including input from their teachers, as classroom insights are invaluable for understanding daily functioning across environments.
05 | Dedicated Feedback Session
45-minute virtual meeting
Dr. Westreich sits down with you to walk through findings, explain diagnoses, answer all questions, and provide a clear, actionable plan for home, school, or workplace accommodations.
